Specialist planning and precise execution for complex, oversized, or high-value cargo, handled by people who know how to get it there.
Overview
Transam offers supply chain solutions that connect people, products, and places. By integrating sea and airfreight services with trucking, customs brokerage, warehousing, documentation, and more, we deliver seamless and custom-tailored end-to-end logistics.
Complex cargo movements carry real risk, structural, regulatory, and operational. We identify and manage every risk point before the cargo moves, not after.
From detailed route surveys and permits to carrier bookings and in-country delivery, we coordinate every element of a project shipment as a single, managed service.
No two project cargo movements are the same. We design the logistics solution around your cargo, your timeline, and your destination, not the other way around.
We provide the full spectrum of project cargo services, planning, execution, and everything in between.
A dedicated project coordinator manages your cargo movement from inception to delivery, handling all vendors, carriers, authorities, and stakeholders on your behalf.
We manage the physical movement of your project cargo, including specialist lifting, securing, crane operations, and heavy transport, with full safety compliance at every stage.
Route surveys, load studies, permit applications, and infrastructure assessments – we do the planning work that determines whether a project can move, how it moves, and what it costs.
We handle all categories of project cargo, from a single machine to full industrial deployments.
01
Large, heavy items that exceed standard transport limitations, requiring specialist lifting gear, multi-axle vehicles, and detailed route planning to move safely.
02
Generators, transformers, turbines, processing plants, and oil and gas equipment. We’ve moved it before, we know the handling requirements, the risks, and the documentation.
03
Bridge sections, structural steel, modular building components, and civil construction materials. We coordinate the complex logistics of moving infrastructure components to site.
04
Cargo that exceeds standard container or vehicle dimensions, requiring open-top, flat-rack, or breakbulk solutions and specific route assessments before departure.
Project cargo refers to large, complex, or high-value shipments that can’t be handled through standard freight processes. It typically involves oversized or out-of-gauge items, heavy lift requirements, or multi-modal movements that require dedicated planning and specialist handling. Examples include industrial machinery, energy equipment, construction materials, and large-scale infrastructure components.
Regular freight forwarding manages standard, containerised shipments along established routes using normal carrier services. Project cargo requires bespoke planning, specialist equipment, permits and approvals, dedicated route surveys, and hands-on coordination at every stage. The complexity and risk profile are fundamentally different, project cargo is planned from scratch for each movement.
We conduct detailed route surveys to assess road conditions, bridge load limits, overhead clearances, and any infrastructure constraints along the proposed transport path. For sea movements, we assess port facilities, crane capacity, and vessel suitability. This survey work happens before any cargo moves, it’s how we avoid surprises.
Yes, and this is a genuine area of expertise for us. We have experience moving generators, processing equipment, fuel infrastructure, and construction plant to Pacific Island nations with limited port infrastructure. We understand the local logistics challenges and plan around them, coordinating sea transport, port handling, and final delivery to site.

Most project cargo moves by sea at some stage. Our seafreight team manages vessel booking, port coordination, and in-country delivery.

For urgent project components that can move by air, we coordinate airfreight as part of the broader project logistics plan.
